In Faith, dear brother, in Faith! We must believe in him by Faith.

In John 20:24-29 we read about Thomas. Now Thomas doubted, his faith was weak. Thomas had to be shown, and once he was shown he was able to believe once again. His Faith was restored.

We don’t have that luxury. We can’t touch Jesus in the body. We can’t talk to him in the person. We must have the undeniable Faith that He is who He says He is and nothing less.

The word faith is mentioned in the Bible 247 times, but, faith is only mentioned two times in the OT. That leaves 245 times in the NT, and more than 10 percent of that is alone is in the Book of Romans… 32 times. The entire 11th chapter in the book of Hebrews is about faith.

Now, we must be like the Centurion, (Matthew 8: 5-13) who’s Faith was strong enough that his son was healed from many miles away. That is what He was teaching us with that passage. He does not have to be present in body to be able to help us. Our Faith in Him is what we need to be saved, nothing else. (Mat 8:10 When Jesus heard [it (the Centurion’s faith)], he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.)

We must also be like the woman who had Faith that Jesus could heal her. She had Faith that if she just tugged at Jesus garment as he passed then she would be healed. (Mat 9:20-22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.) That by her Faith she was healed. Yes, she had to believe first, but she was healed by her Faith in him. Simply believing is not enough!

Lets look at Peter. Peter believed that with Jesus’ help that he could walk on water… He had faith that he could do so…
Mat 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Peter’s tiny moment of doubt was enough to cause him to sink. Faith in Jesus must contain absolutely no doubts. Our Faith must be complete and un-equaled for complete salvation.

True faith might start out as small as a mustard seed, but it will grow. As it grows it [faith] gains strength, and eventually it overwhelms everything else we do. Mat 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Jesus loves your Faith in God, for Jesus said Luk 5:20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

The apostles begged for Jesus to increase their faith Luk 17:5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

And Jesus asked of the people in Luk 18:8 …. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Tell me dear readers, do you have enough Faith to save yourself?

Those who have faith such as can do many great things such as was written about Stephen in Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Now you might ask what is the difference between belief and faith? Lets explore this for a moment.

First lets look at this analogy. Wisdom is to knowledge is the same as Faith is to believe. To have knowledge is good. We know things, such as mathematics, language, physics, computers and on and on and on. To have the Wisdom to put that knowledge to use is the gift of God.

We might all believe the words that are written in the Holy Bible, but to have the Faith to believe that every word in the Bible is True, that’s what is important. To have the Faith to believe that everything that is told about in the Bible, that it actually happened, and not question any of it, nothing.

We must have the Faith to believe that Jesus is indeed the Saviour of the human race. Faith: That’s the most important thing. Faith is what is going to save your soul, not just a belief… Faith! For it is written in Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

I would like you to read the entire chapter of Hebrews 11. I can’t post the entire chapter here, I have Faith that you indeed will read it.

Back to where I started, back to the story of doubting Thomas. Jesus did what he did after the resurrection because He is God. He doesn't need a ‘working’ body, because He is God. He can manulapate His old human body even though his heart is pierced. He does not need it, as Jesus is the God Man. And, God can do anything. We can’t doubt anything, but have Faith and believe in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Put your trust in God and have everlasting life.

Your brother in Christ,
Russ
